Booklist has weighed in on The Rat Machine, saying in part:

Harrington writes like his brain is on fire, spinning a tale of global espionage and conspiracy. Spanning decades and continents, with a Technicolor cast of characters, this feels like a John le Carré novel as directed by Walter Hill, with blood-drenched violence, wonderfully gratuitous sex, and an unpredictable pace. Whether setting the scene or introducing a character, Harrington riffs and digresses fearlessly, confident of readers’ attention–it’s wild, undisciplined, and mesmerizing.
